From Digitization of Construction to the City Greening Projects: NordBau 2017 Shows how the Construction Industry can Benefit
Neumünster. Digital networking in construction and the advantages of urban greening are the megatrends of the construction industry. The 2017 NordBau (13th - 17th September, 2017, at Holstenhallen Neumünster) puts both topics at the heart of the exhibition program. The topic on infrastructure will also play an important role at this year’s exhibition. High-ranking guests from politics and business are expected to be present.
The extensive congress program of Northern Europe's largest compact trade fair on construction is in 2017 marked by the main theme "Digital Construction (Bau digital) - to touch with Building Information Modeling (BIM)". The advantages of digitization are demonstrated by means of practical examples. "We will explain clearly to all interested parties the BIM handling from the 3-D planning, through the calculation to the procurement," says Dr. Wolfgang Bayer, Principal Managing Director of Bauindustrieverband Niedersachsen-Bremen e.V.. In addition, developers, planners, architects, craftsmen and building managers will receive information on software and hardware, employee qualification, as well as legal issues in numerous lectures.
The meeting point of "Construction managers and foremen" establishes itself as an integral part of the exhibition. Topics include occupational safety and health, among others. Various associations will be holding their annual meeting. As an extra service, short-term operational courses are offered in the field of commercial vehicles. As in the previous year, the Architects and Engineers' Day will also be taking place this year, and will equally be devoted to the exhibition’s special theme of "Digitization in Construction". German landscape architects will meet their Danish colleagues and will focus particularly on the theme "Green to the City ". Denmark has been a partner country at the NordBau for over four decades.
The exhibition’s focus, "Green to the City" is designed by professional consultants and architects from the gardening and landscaping sectors, as well as by experts in the housing industry. They’ll illustrate how the greening of urban areas can increase real estate values, and offer added values to municipalities. "Roof greening is becoming more and more popular, with the alternative forms of rainwater use, the delayed release of rainwater after heavy rainfall events and the improved room climate," explains Achim Meierewert, Managing Director of the Professional Association of horticulture, landscaping and sports ground construction in Schleswig-Holstein e.V.. This year, NordBau will present the diverse aspects of gardening in the city, to increase the quality of life and the financial incentives.
This year's NordBau will be opened on September 13th, 2017, by Daniel Günther, Schleswig-Holstein’s new Prime Minister, and Professor Dirk Rompf, Managing Director of Deutsche Bahn Netz AG for network planning and large-scale projects. In his speech, Rompf will talk about project planning and acceleration. A discussion on the topic will follow the speech. Numerous members of the regional government have announced their participation at the exhibition and will take part in tours. Minister of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein, Hans-Joachim Grote, runs the traditional day of the construction minister.
"Every year, our exhibitors offer an updated and comprehensive range of information to those involved in the construction process. This year, the focus will be on the special thematic mix of digitalization, urban planning and infrastructure. As a platform for the construction industry, we want to offer added value to everyone who comes to NordBau," explains Dirk Iwersen, Managing Director of Holstenhallen Neumünster GmbH. Digital networking is also of the utmost importance for the construction machinery market. NordBau offers an overview of all the innovative products on the market.
