NordBau stays tuned: Picking up on important topics of the construction industry and delving into them.
The annual presence of the largest compact trade fair for construction in northern Europe proves to be an advantage for the construction industry and clients. Supplemented by the accompanying highlighting and continuation of important construction industry topics. Central this year: Water...& Build.
(Neumünster) From 6 to 10 September 2023, the 68th NordBau will take place at the Holstenhallen Neumünster exhibition centre in Schleswig-Holstein. For over six decades, it has been the meeting place for the construction industry and all those responsible for construction in the northern half of Germany and its neighbouring Scandinavian countries.
Managing and making optimal use of water - Opportunities for construction
The focus of this year's fair is the special theme "Water... & Build: Heavy Rain - Flood Protection - Water Supply - Environment". The theme is being developed and designed together with a number of committed co-initiators. These include universities, such as Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg with its hydraulic engineering laboratory, Kiel University of Applied Sciences, Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Christian Albrechts University Kiel, the implementing authorities of the ministries (for coastal protection, for road construction and for the environment), the GaLaBau trade association, the globally active company Hamburg Wasser and well-known manufacturers of this topic. Together they will present solutions, ideas, models, scientific research, products that are already in use or under development and much more in Hall 6. Water, as a precious commodity in dry times, but also as a danger during heavy rainfall events - by now everyone associates individual experiences with it. This makes it even more important to assess the risks correctly, minimise the impacts and exploit the opportunities through intelligent management. The construction industry plays a decisive role in this and is in great demand with future-oriented solutions for upcoming construction contracts.
Sustainability in building construction
Keeping an eye on the future - this applies to building construction as well. This will also be demonstrated at NordBau with examples of energy-saving and resource-saving construction. For example, the Lübeck University of Technology will once again present a research pavilion, coupled with other scientific projects on efficient and sustainable building. Furthermore, the Schleswig-Holstein Materials Testing Institute and the Forum Kreislaufwirtschaft Bau, consisting of important players and associations in the construction industry, will be present on site. It is emphasized that mineral building materials, such as bricks, clinker, sand-lime bricks and concrete are important building materials that must continue to play an important role in planners' designs. The ecological footprint and climate considerations are an essential aspect for building in the future, according to university professors.
Energy saving, tiles and bathrooms, interior fittings and kitchens
In the exhibition hall for heating and energy technology, equipment and products for alternative energy generation and energy saving will be increasingly presented by manufacturers and service providers. The central advice stand of the Consumer Advice Centre and Haus & Grund will again be located in the middle of the hall due to last year's great demand. Which individual solutions for energy use are created by forward-looking planning and retrofitting, taking efficiency into account - for households and businesses? The experts on site will provide answers and help with further information.
The Landesfachgruppe Fliesen und Natursteine (Regional Specialist Group for Tiles and Natural Stones) will hold its two-day autumn conference as part of NordBau, thus underlining the importance of the fair for these building materials. Parallel to this, suppliers from the tile, bathroom profiles and construction chemicals sectors will be presenting their wide range of products. Several well-known exhibitors of kitchens round off the range of products for interior finishing.
Open-air site shows range of construction machinery, equipment, and commercial vehicles
Visitors can also look forward to a first-class cross-section of construction machinery, construction equipment, commercial vehicles, and service providers at the coming NordBau. The demand for this sector is extremely high and so the areas have already been booked up early. The exhibitors will also present further developments, innovations, and trends in the areas of municipal technology and tools, e-mobility, and energy technology. You can talk to people, get information in person and test products on all five days of the construction trade fair.
Extensive program of advance training
Exchange and discussion are also at the forefront of the extensive further training programme. This year around 60 lecture events will take place at NordBau, so the conference facilities, including the new Holstenhallen Congress Center, are very well utilised. Half of these conferences are officially recognised further training events of the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Architects and Engineers. More than 4,500 conference participants are expected, who will combine their visit to the seminar with a visit to the trade fair. The motto of the fair, "Here people talk to each other", is thus optimally applied - between trade visitors, exhibitors, seminar participants and speakers - all information about building.
